Project: Kingsway Building
Location: Caringbah NSW
Habitation maximised the potential of a small commercial site in Caringbah creating a mixed used development containing 31 residential apartments and 4 retail tenancies over a 2 level basement carpark. The form and composition of the development allows for the living spaces to face the northern city views. All units demonstrate high levels of passive solar design and maximise the use of natural daylight and cross ventilation to ensure maximum comfort for the inhabitants.

The secondary concept was to create a retreat away from the busy Kingsway which the building fronts. In the centre of the development, and accessible from the main common entry, is a small courtyard. The courtyard is surrounded by a walkway, providing access to the apartments. The tranquil courtyard provides a sharp contrast to the busy Kingsway.

At the lower levels, retail  and 2 storey units facing north at the rear create a solid podium. The apartments above provide a strong street wall to the Kingsway, with balony openings being penetrations in the street wall. On the northern side, the architecure is about controlling solar access and providing usable outdoor spaces. The interiors are characterised by high quality finishes and living spaces that flow to the spacious balconies.

Location: Marrickville NSW
Project: Rhodes Waterside
Location: Rhodes NSW
The landscape masterplan at Rhodes Waterside aimed to balance and integrate the architecural form with the surrounding development. A strong axis was created between the communal courtyard space and adjoining parkland, creating a subtle continuation between public and private open space. A large cascading water feature creates a visual and aural focal point to the development, whilst also forming a part of the onsite water purification process.

Project: Clemton Park
Location: Campsie NSW

Habitation prepared a landscape concept masterplan for a proposed mixed-use, residential development. The landscape design concept fuses the surrounding suburban Campsie character with the proposed modern, urban development, providing an interactive and attractive streetscape while preserving the neighbourhood character of the local area.

The new central, communal open space provides the residents of Clemton Park and the local community with a functional open space asset. This open space has been designed for a variety of user groups of different nationalities, ages and access requirements. Features such as games areas, visitor parking, picnic and BBQ facilites, interactive playgrounds and outdoor events spaces have been incorporated to create a functional and lively public space
